Groove ON is a concept which carries a message and manifests itself under the form of acultural platform.

The team is represented by a community of young artists from different cultural fields, respectivelymusic, visual arts, theatre, film and gastronomy.We want to facilitate the communicationbetween the artists and their public, to offer mobility for the ideas and artistic productions from the underground.

In this spirit, we try to bring this community, now mostly online also in a real, physical space in which free expression of ideas and artistic creation could find a way to manifest easily. Thus we have envisaged a space that could host physically both the scene and the artists’ ateliers and the exhibition areas. The construction is temporary, from light materials (wood, line, cloth) and takes the form of an octagon. Mobility is very important in order to be able to transmit the message fast and simple to people from different places, cultures and civilizations and to attract artists and public from all over the world.

Music: Djs playing jazz, funk, broken-beat, reggae, idm, world, exotic, breakbeat, dnb, latin-breaks, down-tempo, hip-hop, electro, house, deep house and live concerts or jam sessions.

In 2011, Groove ON has launched the concept of “Octagon Scene”. The Octagon is a meeting place for ideas, people and fine arts, but also for a permanent and creative energy exchange.

The scene is shaped in 8 areas, each with a special destination. The Octagon contains:

-Artist ateliers, with workshops and live events presenting work techniques;

- Exhibition spaces for local artists and friends of the radio;

- Live music area with djs and concerts

- Relaxation area with hammocks;

- Bar area

Basically the Octagon is the mobile variant of the Groove ON concept.

E iarna si frig, stim! Dar nu e nevoie sa visati nostalgic cu gandul la vreo insula insorita. Putem sa producem caldura instant. Iarna in Bucuresti? Da, da se poate cu succes! Vineri,10 februarie, de la 23.00, va invitam la cea de-a doua editie de Tropical Party la Radio Groove ON !

Reluam tema din 7 ianuarie unde ne-am distrat pana dimineata la St John’s Tropical Party cu Jo.E, UFE si The Party Crashers. Petrecere de Sfantul Ion a ajuns sa fie All Saints Party si chiar daca invitatii n-au prea respectat tema pentru dress-code, atmosfera s-a incins rapid mai ceva ca la tropice. The PartyCrashers au umplut aerul si urechile dansatorilor din studio de muzici care mai de care mai hot.

Jo. E si UFE au preluat in acceasi nota si uite asa pe la orele diminetii inca dansam care mai de care, inclusiv iubitul porcusor “Cina” care din porc linistit a ajuns in noaptea cu pricina porc dansator si mai, mai ca zbura pe sus prin studio.

Prin urmare, au zburat si porcii si am avut parte si de petrecere tropicala in ianuarie. La Radio Groove ON vom incerca mereu sa fim pe aceeasi unda cu ascultatorii nostri. Tot ce visati poate deveni realitate peste noapte.

Pasionat de muzica inca de mic, Arapu are primul contact cu muzica electronica la 14 ani la festivalul Delahoya in Cluj, urmand putin mai tarziu sa inceapa sa puna muzica si sa organizeze petreceri pentru pasionati in orasul sau natal. In 2005 se muta in Bucuresti si are ocazia sa mixeze in cluburi de renume si incet isi contureaza stilul sau muzical. Dupa o serie de productii muzicale proprii care se bucura de mare succes si avand sustinerea celor de la [a:rpia:r], putem spune ca Arapu este un dj si producator care merita urmarit.

Pasionat de mic de muzica Hado isi doreste sa invete sa puna muzica si sa o produca, astfel in 2008 isi incepe calatoria ca dj iar dupa putin timp are si primul show in cadrul unui After Hours at Mash-up Club. Anul 2009 aduce o mare schimbare in viata lui prin invitatia de a se alatura echipei Groove ON Radio, moment care ii influenteaza puternic cariera de dj. Mai recent Hado si-a inceput productia muzicala lansand mai multe EP-uri la labeluri ca Derivat si Soundcrossing singur sau impreuna cu colegul sau Alex Puicea impreuna cu care formeaza un proiect muzical prin de idei noi “Public Order”. Mereu deschis la idei si influente noi el continua cautarea unui sunet cat mai bun in timp ce stilul sau muzical variaza de la house la techno si cateodata chiar experimental.

Te invit sa-ti deschizi porii imaginatiei prin panzele lui Lucian Dedita la expozitia de arta ce imortalizeaza prin simturi ascutite, viciile, esenta si zaharul. Vernisajul isi agata operele de peretii clubului Our Evolution, loc modificat de simtul estetic rafinat si gratia schimbarilor.

Paseste-n orele 21:00, pe 23 decembrie, printre cupe de prosecco in ecoul muzicii ambientale ce te vrea acolo sa te conduca la brat pe drumul pavat cu amor artistic.

Universul de acoarela si viori va clati ochii sufocati de spatiu poluat de claxoane si hai sa-ti gadili corzile din piept cu evadari senzoriale.

Din pragul orei 22:00, iluzia povestii continua cu Live Band 3 ce inspira trip-hop si lounge, urmandu-i indeaproape, la miez de noapte, Jo.E ce va colora atmosfera prin nu-jazz, disco si jazz-funk. La ora 2:00 DJane Sabatine inteapa timpanele cu ritmuri de deep-techno, house si minial. Explozia de sunete cochete vine sa urce sangele inapoi in vene prin temperaturi vii si aristocratia vibratiilor.

Culinary Workshop: Spagetti alla Carbonara & Bolognese -December 4th, 2011-

If we were to summarize the first Culinary Workshop held on December 4th, it would be hard to express more than the pictures and the devouring participants said!

The workshop started with a resistance test for its participants. Therefore, we were all evaluated to see how much we can smell and see the amazing-to-be food, but not be able to eat it until it was entirely ready. And this test had the name of Spagetti Bolognese, „autographed” Alex Puicea. For a little show off and a hint for what might follow, the result we all expected looked like this:

We all passed the test, as in we didn’t attack Alex and steal some spaghetti, and enjoyed our full plates in a matter of minutes.

The second pasta type was alla Carbonara, and thanks to Andrei Tandara we might actually be able to try that at home since he actually gave us a lot of tips on how to make things short and fun. His skill and experience proved us all that Culinary Workshops are much more taught full that we expected. Though it took less time to prepare, it felt like we were all starving again by half of its cooking time, so the best pictures we took were with empty plates and happy people!

By the end of the workshop, nobody cared about the calories or the hour. We all cared if there was more left to eat or take away, we cared to ask more on how to make them in our normal kitchens but perhaps with less experience, and we obviously gathered to share impressions and a large cup of delicious tea.

So the first edition made us “hungry” for new ideas in the near future!

Workshop culinar la Groove ON – bolognese vs alla carbonara-

Se spune ca nimic nu te poate inveseli mai bine decat vinul bun si o mancarea gustoasa. Din fericire, ne-am gandit sa le strangem pe amandoua intr-o singura seara si intr-un singur loc: duminica asta, de la ora 19.00, in Studioul Cultural Groove ON.
Principala motivatie a noastra nu au fost „zicatorile”, ci faptul ca secolul vitezei ne face sa inlocuim de multe ori mesele calde si sanatoase cu mancarea de la FAST-food. De aceea, pana vom reinvia obiceiul de a gati acasa, fiecare dintre noi va pregati duminica un preparat pentru cei din Studio.

Daca ne veti vizita duminica asta (4 Decembrie) puteti fura retete, puteti afla ingrediente secrete despre 2 retete traditionale de paste (Bolognese si alla Carbonara) de la 2 maiestri in ale gatitului : Andrei Tandara si Alex Puicea.

Locurile sunt limitate si doar 15 persoane pot participa la workshop, inscrierile avand loc la studioul Groove ON (strada Liveni, numarul 4) de astazi (30.11) pana sambata (3.12) inclusiv, dupa ora 19.00.

Costul de participare la workshop este de 12 lei incluzand si o portie de paste!
